Yoga for the Well-Spirit
Cody, Wyoming

Laura Vanderberg, Director/Owner

Laura is strongly committed to making yoga accessible to every body and strives to help students get to know themselves through their own practice. To meet the needs of the community, she offers a variety of class styles and times. Her deep connection with nature has led her to develop Yoga Treks and summer outdoor classes to treat her students to the beauty of Cody and the surrounding mountains.

Originally drawn to yoga for injury prevention, Laura embarked on and completed a Yoga Alliance certified 200 hour teacher training program at Universalmovement in Virginia Beach back in 2005. Later that year, a 2 month sabbatical took her around the Western US as she and her dogs explored what was to come next. Laura strongly believes that Cody found her at a time that she was searching for a place to be able to share the power of yoga with others.

The career path that took Laura to Cody is as vaied and eclectic as her yoga teaching style. She is trained, by education, as a microbiologist and spent 8 years at the Los Alamos National Laboratory, followed by 7 years working as a science advisor for the US Navy SEALs and EOD techs in Virginia. This work broadened her perpective on life and people nearly as much as her yoga as she traveled the nation and the world to support Special Operations Forces.

Laura's teacher traning and exposure to many studios and teaching approaches across the country have helped her develop a warm and compassionate style representing a fusion of many yoga flavors. She is a student of Ann Richardson (senior instructor for Beryl Binder Birch's The Hard and The Soft Yoga Institute) and Rosie Taylor (instructor of Iyengar style). Laura has also learned much from Angela Phillips (founder of Angela Phillips Yoga Studio). Laura has traned with many well known yogis including Kofi Busia, Thom Birch, Doug Swenson, Suzie Hurley, Michael Stone and Tao Porchon-Lynch. Most recently she has been studying with Baxter Bell.

Ever the student, Laura looks foward to learning from all with whom she comes in contact and is excited to share yoga with the community Here.
